Hello, It's Me !

Journal Entry 240

Hello there ! Honestly speaking, it has been 2 years since I last wrote. 2 freaking years !! Hahaha, where have I been doing, dreaming & working on ?

Well, the answer is practically 'nothing' . Just the same 'day in day out' kind of routine & I guess with Instagram, the apps just makes everything easier for all. In fact, it can be really hard to bounce back after such a long break from blogging. So, feeling inspired today - here I am - to continue to journey of my life thru writing.

During my 2 yrs break, I didn't really glance thru my favourite blogs and seeing my own blog yesterday makes me miss writing so much. I remembered how much fun it is to visualize my thoughts & coming up with an exciting journal entry. Hmm, frankly speaking, post writing can be pretty daunting. Looking back & thinking where, when and how this event came about requires some research...literally :):).

So, I am going to start small. Breaking it down bits by bits after 2 years. So, have you ever taken a blogging break ?

It can be done easily but bouncing back will take some time. Here I am then - reminiscing the years that I have missed writing ~~~

and my little baby swims !

Journal Entry 239

Matt had always wanted to do this for the longest time but was just too afraid of the water.  It started out with weeks of persuasion to get him to join a swimming class nearby our place but he was too scared to go. So, I had to give some pep talk to him & eventually, he gave in.

1st trial - well, we were getting ready for class when Matt started to cry & had a sudden outburst of not going for the 1st time. He was just too afraid of drowning & again, we tried to calm him down by telling him that all will be ok. But the little boy seems terrified & hence, poor mummy had to call up to cancel it :(.

A week passed & here we go again- but with the daddy tagging along. Hubby was really good at persuading Matt & this time, huge success. He went into the water & the coach guided him with some underwater techniques before going further with more swimming strokes.

Enrolled him for a course with a total of 11 lessons ending way back in Nov. He had a few rounds of survival swims but the confidence level is still not there. So, yours truly here registered him for the school holiday program for more intensive swimming lessons. This time around - it is a daily lesson of 2 hrs/day with a combination of both swimming + some life saving techniques taught by the wonderful coaches.

Amazingly, Matt enjoyed this round and made some friends too :). In fact, I am glad that I have gotten him to swim, at least for now - he has added one small little feather to his cap !

Thank you Pg Swimming Academy - now everyone can swim :):) & making it so easy for Matt

Loving : Shades of Brown

Journal Entry 239

I have always had a liking for shades of brown.

So, I did what most girls did - online shopping. Well, you know - things are heavily discounted online and basically, you can find everything there !  I was browsing the web till I came across a 60% discount on a classic DW watch ! I have always loved it's simplicity yet elegant feature & hence, without thinking much- I clicked on ' add to cart'. Hubby kinda gave me that look - wah, no need money ah? Never think also ? Gave him a smile back & told him - definitely worth the money -one !!

Took about 4 weeks for delivery & it finally arrived - Tee-Hee !! Gladly wore the watch to my mum in law's birthday till the watch stop ticking ! Damn, see la..buy online somemore - this time sure kena con d. Phew, I adjusted it a bit & it started to tick back...and all good till now. Fingers crossed !

Of course, to pair it off - I got a brown satchel bag from Lazada to compliment it ! Pretty handy and the best part, good for travelling when you need only the essentials to be with you.

'Anyoung haseyo' , peeps !

A year in a glimpse

Journal Entry 238

It is Sept now & the year is coming to an end.

I have should have written earlier but the lazy bug in me stopped me from doing it. Oh gosh, how am I going to fit all of it to one single post ? *Sweat

Hmm, let' start with the 1st quarter of the yr. Well, the year started off with us celebrating the year of the Goat. Same old tradition with us visiting both sides of the family, Matt getting his red packets & of course, we had our new outfits to try on. Visited my bedridden aunt in Taiping and glad that she is still doing very well ! The rest of our CNY were pretty low-key as my extended family were quite small.

Same spot & same pose every yr

The kids has grown

With CNY done, it was then birthday celebrations in both Mac and April with hubs and bubs celebrating it a week's apart. Matt choose Swensen for his birthday celebration this year and the kids were really happy with their ice cream treats ! One highlight is definitely not too have too many kids in one place..one word to describe all - havoc !!

Matt's Birthday

Anyway, with Matt adjusting to Primary 1 & hubby's frequent travelling, we have travelled less for holidays too. The cons of having a schooling kid is now you need to do all your travelling during peak periods which literally translates to peanut butter jam & extremely expensive room rates for travels. Sigh :(...so, what hubs and I did was to go on date nights more often. It was our 10th wedding anniversary this yr & hence, we decided to take a day off & did what all new couples does. We went dating !!! Celebrated the day with a movie and ended the night with a candlelight dinner at The View.

Happy Anniversary BB !

Rare moments like this are hard to find. Well, at times it is good to reignite the spark back as each of us had been so caught up with different phases in life that we tend to forget about the crazy things we did last time. It was a good nite spent with hubby. Also, we did a mini staycation with Matt too & he enjoyed every part of it.

both of us

No doubt, the 1st half of the yr were on a happy note - there were some unhappy ones too. Mum was diagnosed with kidney stone in June & had to undergo a minor operation to remove it. That week was definitely one of the most hectic time for me as it was back and forth to the hospital as well as to look after Matt who was also schooling. I think I lost some weight that time too !! With God's blessing, mum recovered and is back to her own good self.

With 2015 coming to an end, we also decided to move on with our next phase in life. A new nest & projected date of moving to be in 2017. The properties in Penang is just way too expensive & hubs thought that it is best to get one now before it shoots up in years to come. Stay tune for more updates !

Of course, not forgetting my weekend trials this yr. Tried a few new recipes for the family too & your's truly is pretty happy with the outcome !!

Till then, I really wish I could write more but at times, time does not permit me to do so. Perhaps, with the holiday season coming -I do hope I can get some breaks in btw. Had been so eager to try new baking recipes & unlocking more pastries and cakes for the family.
