A year in a glimpse

Journal Entry 238

It is Sept now & the year is coming to an end.

I have should have written earlier but the lazy bug in me stopped me from doing it. Oh gosh, how am I going to fit all of it to one single post ? *Sweat

Hmm, let' start with the 1st quarter of the yr. Well, the year started off with us celebrating the year of the Goat. Same old tradition with us visiting both sides of the family, Matt getting his red packets & of course, we had our new outfits to try on. Visited my bedridden aunt in Taiping and glad that she is still doing very well ! The rest of our CNY were pretty low-key as my extended family were quite small.

Same spot & same pose every yr

The kids has grown

With CNY done, it was then birthday celebrations in both Mac and April with hubs and bubs celebrating it a week's apart. Matt choose Swensen for his birthday celebration this year and the kids were really happy with their ice cream treats ! One highlight is definitely not too have too many kids in one place..one word to describe all - havoc !!

Matt's Birthday

Anyway, with Matt adjusting to Primary 1 & hubby's frequent travelling, we have travelled less for holidays too. The cons of having a schooling kid is now you need to do all your travelling during peak periods which literally translates to peanut butter jam & extremely expensive room rates for travels. Sigh :(...so, what hubs and I did was to go on date nights more often. It was our 10th wedding anniversary this yr & hence, we decided to take a day off & did what all new couples does. We went dating !!! Celebrated the day with a movie and ended the night with a candlelight dinner at The View.

Happy Anniversary BB !

Rare moments like this are hard to find. Well, at times it is good to reignite the spark back as each of us had been so caught up with different phases in life that we tend to forget about the crazy things we did last time. It was a good nite spent with hubby. Also, we did a mini staycation with Matt too & he enjoyed every part of it.

both of us

No doubt, the 1st half of the yr were on a happy note - there were some unhappy ones too. Mum was diagnosed with kidney stone in June & had to undergo a minor operation to remove it. That week was definitely one of the most hectic time for me as it was back and forth to the hospital as well as to look after Matt who was also schooling. I think I lost some weight that time too !! With God's blessing, mum recovered and is back to her own good self.

With 2015 coming to an end, we also decided to move on with our next phase in life. A new nest & projected date of moving to be in 2017. The properties in Penang is just way too expensive & hubs thought that it is best to get one now before it shoots up in years to come. Stay tune for more updates !

Of course, not forgetting my weekend trials this yr. Tried a few new recipes for the family too & your's truly is pretty happy with the outcome !!

Till then, I really wish I could write more but at times, time does not permit me to do so. Perhaps, with the holiday season coming -I do hope I can get some breaks in btw. Had been so eager to try new baking recipes & unlocking more pastries and cakes for the family.
