11 Months & Counting.....

Matthew is 11 months as of today. One more month to the BIG number 1 (ONE, SATU, Yii, Chit)

He has grown so much over the months and he now weighs at 9.5kg with XXX cm - Er...no measurement taken on length as doc only concentrated on the weight - that's the main criteria so to speak. Well, at 11 months, BB Matt is learning how to stand, trying to walk a few steps with the help of dad's rattan chair and above all ~~~ his fav -he loves MUSIC and BATHING !

He was at my parent's place over the weekend and dad took out my old little Casio piano. He ! He ! Got the gift from my dad when I was 15. Only played the piano for a while - you know - 'hangat hangat tahi ayam' - after that became 'white elephant' . Mum chucked it at one little corner 15 yrs ago (yeah-I am touching 30 soon :().....and last week, we FOUND it after searching high and low for it.

So, dad passed it down to my kid -since it was mine. We started to play it with some 'demo' song - Rick Ashley's 'Together Forever'. Ha ! Ha ! It has been a decade since I heard that song. Well, BB Matt was pretty petrified with it at first, but after listening to it for a few times, he started to move....yes BB - MOVE IT ! Like Alex from Madgascar...then slowly, he started with the hand...moving from left to right...after that he got bored and stopped....We laughed upon seeing that ! A short video clip as below :-

Another of Matt's fav would be 'bathing time'. He loves playing with the water. Quite a brave boy I should say-loves splashing the water with his hands till it got into his eyes. After that, he can still pose a cheeky smile to you showing that he is enjoying himself . In fact, he totally ignore his friend - ducky. He was in a world of his OWN - curious of what 'water' is - a place he was IN 19 months back ! A short video clip as below.

It is fun seeing him coming to terms with the World of Wonders. His 5 senses is starting to develop as he grows - he is discovering the word 'I'. In fact, there is no need to rush your kid thru this phase. I can say that some parents & grandparents tend to COMPARE -take eg -like whose bb can do this and that - you know la- the 'ee-ma-ku-chehs' - aka our auntie-la, neigbours la, frens la and even to the extent of my MIL's hairsylist -blek ! Yeah, you can hear them in the morning - when all the 'aunties' go for their 'tai chi and 'morning walk'.
Sad but true - you can always hear them saying ~~~

-'Wah, your grandson can call papa and mama already ah ?' My daughter -one month later than your grandson can already lor ...- says hairstylist I

OR

-' Eh girl ...your son can crawl and walk already boi ? My grand-daughter is slowly learning to crawl and stand already liau' - says neighbour A

OR
-Eh Mrs Chin ah - your grandson so fair hor .... Know how to say bye bye already boi ? - My little boy will then blurly stare at her for a while as if he knows that ppl are talking about him.

So, to all mothers out there ~~ I used to have this urge to make sure my kid sits, crawls, walk, talk & play first compared to other babies, but now I come to a realisation that forcing is not learning. Let nature unfolds itself and miracles will take place...

I am indeed excited and thrilled that he has reached the 11 month's milestone and definitely, I am looking forward to his 1st birthday~~~ Number ONE - here comes BB Matt !!!
